Janez Strehovec

Dr. Janez Strehovec is associate prof. of new media art theory and director of Institute of New Media Art and Electronic Literature. He is the author of eight scientific monographs in the fields of cultural studies, digital literature, literary criticism, and aesthetics. The most recent is Text as Ride (2016). His English essays are included as book chapters in several reference books and published in scientific journals (e.g. Digital Creativity, CLC Web, CTheory, Journal of Popular Culture, Afterimage, Cybertext Yearbook, Electronic Book Review, Cultura, First Monday, Teksty Drugie).   1. hidden forms of recent Fascist segregation, Asian Proto-Fascism, Academic Fascism (e.g. the topic of researcher as scapegoat Other vs. all-powerful leader), micro and molecular Fascism, and new modalities of blood and soil (Ger. Blut und Boden) ideology;
  2. madness through arts and culture;
  3. critique of literary Nationalism;
  4. social media textuality and storytelling.

Maja Murnik

Dr. Maja Murnik is founder of the Institute and researcher. She holds PhD in philosophy and theory of visual culture (at Faculty of Humanities Koper, Slovenia). She graduated in comparative literature and in theatre studies in Ljubljana. She worked as Assistant at Faculty of Humanities Koper, and as editor-in-chief of the Slovenian bilingual journal of performing and new media arts “Maska” and its book editions. Currently she is independent scholar and freelance art reviewer.

She conducts research in phenomenological aesthetics (Merleau-Ponty), new media art, performance art, philosophy of the body, art and science. Her papers were presented on several conferences (Ljubljana, Koper, Paris, Beijing, Ankara, Puebla (Mexico), etc.). She is also member of editorial board of the journal Virtual Creativity (publ. by Intellect Ltd.).

Mojca Puncer

Dr. Mojca Puncer is founder of Institute and researcher. She received her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Ljubljana. She is Assistant Professor for Philosophy at the University of Maribor. She teaches at the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Education, at the Department of Art History at the Faculty of Arts (University of Maribor) and at the Faculty of Design in Ljubljana. She works also as a freelance curator, critic and theoretician in the field of contemporary arts, cultural educator and writer. She has been published in numerous publications in Slovenia and abroad. She is the author of the book Contemporary Art and Aesthetics (2010). Her upcoming book is Interspaces of Art (Sophia, Ljubljana).

She conducts research in philosophy of art and culture, aesthetics, contemporary art history, art theory, fine art, visual culture, and new media theory. Her main interest is in artistic research, participation, performativity, body, space, art in social space, new media art, art and science.
